Role Overview
This role sits within one of American Express's data science teams. You'll build and validate models on large, real-world datasets, then work with business partners to translate model output into decisions.
What You'll Do
- Build, validate, and monitor statistical or machine-learning models
- Partner with business teams to define the problem and success metrics
- Perform exploratory data analysis on large transactional datasets
- Communicate model results and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, CS, Engineering, or similar)
- 0-2 years of experience in data science or analytics
- Working knowledge of Python or R and SQL
- Understanding of core statistical and machine-learning concepts
Nice to Have
- Exposure to PySpark or other big-data tooling
- Prior coursework or project work involving credit, risk, or marketing analytics
