Role Overview
Visa is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Bengaluru team. This role sits across the stack — writing and reviewing production code, wiring up integrations between systems, and keeping applications healthy in production. It's a good fit for engineers who enjoy owning a feature end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring.
What You'll Do
- Write, review, and maintain testable, efficient code across front-end, back-end, and data layers
- Integrate systems and applications using APIs, messaging queues, and databases
- Build and maintain data pipelines and large-scale data processing jobs
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with an emphasis on automation
- Keep CI pipelines running so tests execute automatically on every commit
- Debug production issues, run root-cause analysis, and use AI-assisted tooling where useful
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, packaging and deploying with containers and orchestration tools
- Monitor live applications with observability tooling and resolve incidents
- Apply secure coding practices — input validation, secrets management, auth flows
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus around a year of relevant experience
- Experience building and shipping web or mobile applications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Hibernate
- Comfortable with Git, Maven, and Jenkins in a team workflow
- Experience building REST/SOAP APIs and working with OAuth/SAML
- Familiar with SQL databases (DB2, MySQL) and Linux/Unix environments
- Clear, structured communication — written and verbal
Nice to Have
- Exposure to streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
- Experience with NoSQL stores, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted coding tools in a real workflow
- A track record of working cross-functionally with product and business teams
